Biography

Born and bred in Belfast, I worked in the transportation industry for over twenty years but I always had a passion for words. I finally took up the gauntlet to write in 2007, and my first published article appeared in My Weekly in June that year. More success followed and my work has now been published throughout the UK and Ireland.

I specialise in writing non-fiction articles and my interest and knowledge of local history has inspired me to pen numerous pieces on Ireland's colourful people, places and culture. But an inquisitive nature and a willingness to learn has led me to write on a variety of topics from mental health to cinema, from worldwide customs to fish-keeping.

A keen sports fan, with a marked interest in Irish Rugby, I'm a man of somewhat diverse tastes. I enjoy keeping fit, cooking and eating, reading, classic cinema, rock music, motorcycles, and despite classing myself a loner, an active social life implies that I'm not a lonely person.

I relish the outdoors. Hiking and country walking are two of my favourite pursuits, and when I'm not reading, writing or indulging in any of the above I can usually be found roaming the hills close to my home, where I live with my wife, our daughter, an insane Collie and a sizeable Persian cat.

NB: If you are an editor who would like to discuss a potential project, please don't hesitate to contact me. I consider no job too big or small and I give every article I write my full commitment.
